about

Paul Smith AKA PAS1 is a talented producer from Liverpool, a city where he developed a strong passion for Jungle, Dubstep & 2-Step Breaks. PAS1 is focused on creating music in the 130 - 160bpm range, using his Mackie Mixing Desk & Roland MC303 drum machine to achieve his authentic sound. He’s had previous releases on ‘Draconican Audio’ & ‘More Cowbell’, as well as producing Techno under his other alias ‘Innenwelt’.

After living in Liverpool, PAS1 moved down south to Brighton, eventually ending up in Bristol, where he built his studio and got involved with Bristol’s ‘Escher Collective’ - a Bristol-based beat movement in which producers meet up in a venue to test their exclusive dubs on a sound system. This level of friendly competition pushed PAS1 to create some of the best music he could, which has led to the birth of 'Concrete Dubs'.

The EP is a testament to PAS1’s versatility and production skills as the album seamlessly flows from big sub-heavy bangers such as ‘Send’ and ‘Air Max’ to some smooth jungle with intricate rolling breaks in ‘Virtual Reality’, and then finally finishing it off with a seriously weighty cherry on top, the drum and bass tune ‘Return The Map’.
